At a Palm Beach, Florida, restaurant, a sugar heir attacked his girlfriend because they were seated next to a lesbian couple.

According to the Palm Beach Police Department, Nico, whose real name is Alexander Nicholas Fanjul, 39, attacked his girlfriend at home on January 28 after she requested him to quit being upset about their restaurant visit.

In recently made public bodycam footage that Law & Crime was able to get, officers can be seen arriving at the scene and holding Fanjul.

In the video, an officer explains how he arrived at a chaotic scene, heard the couple yelling inside the house, and saw the chaos through a door crack.

Fanjul was standing over his girlfriend when the officer entered the residence, according to the officer, and there were bloodstains and drops where the woman claimed she had been transported.

She was carrying her purse. He ripped it off her shoulder, kicked her, and flung her to the ground. She is clueless about the location of her phone and handbag. “She’s pretty beat up,” the officer replies.

The officer’s arrest records show that many items had been thrown on the floor or pushed over, including chairs that had been turned upside down and rugs that were not in their proper places.

The lady told police that Fanjul choked her around the neck until she struggled to breathe, according to court records that Law & Crime was able to obtain.

The woman’s statement was supported by the redness and bruises around her neck.

Palm Beach County court records show that Fanjul was arrested and charged with seven counts of false imprisonment, petit theft, felony battery, interference with a witness, victim, or informant, battery, criminal mischief, and possession of cocaine.

He entered guilty pleas to felony violence, criminal mischief, and petit theft on November 4, but the judge rejected adjudication of the last charge. He received a four-year probationary term.

Fanjul is the oldest son of Florida Crystals senior vice president and director Alexander Fanjul Sr.

The West Palm Beach-based company is one of the leading manufacturers of sugar in the Southeast United States, according to The Palm Beach Post. The 39-year-old is not employed by the company.

Florida Crystals and the Palm Beach Police Department have been approached by The Independent for comment.
