Suspect Shot Dead in Orange County After Pursuit, Two Officers Sustain Injuries During Chase!

A police chase in Orange County early Tuesday ended with the suspect being shot and killed, leaving two officers injured in the process.

Authorities reported that it all started as a disturbance in Bridge City, leading the suspect to flee from the police.

Deputy Colton Havard of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office mentioned that the pursuit moved onto Highway 73, where a Chambers County Constable, who was on a motorcycle escorting truck carrying heavy equipment, got hurt.

The constable’s injury happened when one of the police vehicles involved in the chase collided with him. His identity has not been disclosed.

The chase continued into the city of Orange, finally coming to a halt at the intersection of 16th Street and Green Avenue.

At this point, officers opened fire, resulting in the suspect’s death.

Havard also stated that another officer was injured when a bullet, believed to have ricocheted, struck him in the leg.

Fortunately, the injuries sustained by both the constable and the other officer are not life-threatening.

The suspect’s identity has not yet been disclosed. Meanwhile, the Texas Rangers have been brought in to investigate the officer-involved shooting.
