Teacher reportedly stayed overnight at the school with a 14-year-old student—filmed “carrying pillows and blankets.”

Police in Texas say that a middle school teacher grabbed a 14-year-old student’s butt in the hallway while bringing bedding into the classroom and spending the night with her. The teacher has been charged with grooming the girls.

An affidavit obtained by Fox 4 News says that Sergio Gonzalez, 54, was first accused of sending the girl “inappropriate” text messages.

As a result of the investigation, school officials found the disturbing video from July, which was taken over the summer break.

The affidavit said that the video showed the teacher “grabbing the victim’s buttocks and then walking down the hallway while holding hands before entering the classroom.”

Balch Springs Police Officer Pedro Gonzalez told the news source that there was video footage of the people walking down the hallways with pillows and blankets, spending the night at the school.

He said, “Both the teacher and the student were staying the night at the school.”

Three employees at AC New Middle School in Mesquite first told the school’s principal in August that Sergio Gonzalez was sending strange messages to a 14-year-old student.

The Balch Springs police officer said that the student and teacher were accused of sending inappropriate text messages to each other. In the messages, the teacher was said to have called the girl “baby” and “love.”

The report said that other students said the teacher would give the girl rides, visit her after school, and touch her inappropriately.

The girl’s family said they knew the two spent time together but felt safe with Gonzalez and didn’t think the relationship went too far.

The teacher was put on administrative leave on August 20, and the school district told the Balch Springs Police Department about the relationship. He later quit the district where he had worked for 20 years.

The affidavit says that when the teen talked to the police, she “played down the situation while showing her deep concern for Gonzalez and what happens to him.”

Officer Gonzalez said, “That’s why this investigation has taken so long.” “Building a case where the victim won’t help fully.”

The teacher was caught at his Forney home on Wednesday morning, but he wouldn’t talk to police.

He is charged with grooming a child, but police say they may file more charges against him soon.
