The mayor has a special message for the killer who shot a nine-year-old boy in Newark

According to a representative for the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, the youngster was shot on Osborne Terrace at around 5:27 p.m. while getting out of a car with his father and sister.

During the event, a 36-year-old guy who doesn’t seem to be linked to the child was also shot. There were no immediate details about his injuries.

The mayor of Newark, Ras J. Baraka, declared the tragedy unfathomable and promised justice, expressing his fury.

The murderer ought to know that we are pursuing you. In a statement, Baraka stated, “Turn yourself in now; we won’t stop until we find you.”

He went on to say that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Police Division are working together to apprehend the gunman.

Through the Crime Stoppers Program, Essex County Sheriff Amir Jones has offered a $10,000 reward for information that results in the arrest of the offending individual or individuals.
