The United States is making encouraging progress in reducing crime rates and drug mortality

Sharing is caring!

It’s easy to miss the fact that some important indicators are moving in very positive ways amidst all the bad news in the world today.

For a long time now, the U.S. economy has been going up. Thankfully, there is also good news about crime and illegal drugs.

According to new data from the FBI, the number of killings and intentional deaths dropped by 11.6% from 2022 to 2023. The rates of property crime and violent crime also went down.

The CDC also says that the number of fatal drug overdoses has dropped by more than 10%, which is very good news.

Sadly, you wouldn’t hear any of this good news if you only watched leaders and TV hosts who spread fear by complaining about how bad things are in our country.

In conclusion, our country still has a long way to go, but the new crime and health reports show that we are making real progress.

We will continue to do so if we stay the course and continue with the public solutions that have been working well.
