A North Carolina lottery winner received a large windfall but has yet to claim their six-figure award.

The winner now has a few days to pay in before the lucky ticket expires on November 12, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery.

“Search everywhere you keep your tickets and double-check any you have to see if you have the winning ticket,” lottery CEO Mark Michalko stated in a news release on November 5. “We hope that whomever purchased this ticket comes forward to claim their prize soon so we can celebrate their big win with them.”

Months ago, the player tried their luck with the Carolina Cash 5 game, which has tickets starting at $1. The winner purchased their ticket at a Sheetz convenience shop in Dobson, approximately 45 miles northwest of Winston-Salem.

The ticket matched all of the numbers drawn in the May 16 drawing, making it worth $110,000. The numbers drawn that night were 5-15-36-40-43, according to the findings.

The game’s top winners have around six months to claim their prizes at the North Carolina lottery headquarters in Raleigh. However, time is running out for the lucky Dobson player who defeated the 1-in-962,598 odds to win the prize.

As of 11:20 a.m. on Nov. 5, no winner had emerged. The cash-in deadline is 5 p.m. on November 12, according to officials’ news release and an email to McClatchy News.
