Sharing is caring!

Investigators claim that a woman from Arizona killed at least three pets by torture and horribly detailed the ordeal in her personal notebook.

After being taken into custody on November 14, 42-year-old Brook Scalero subsequently acknowledged her involvement in the killings of Pepe, Griffin, and Gus.

According to the Mesa Police Department (MPD), a journal purportedly belonging to Scalero was turned in on November 4. The ongoing mistreatment and eventual deaths of several canines in Scalero’s care were described in graphic detail in the newspaper.

According to the findings of the investigation, Scalero paid $500 in May to pick up Pepe, a three-year-old Maltese mix dog, from Paws Fur The Cause, a local animal rescue organization.

On the understanding that she would cover the cost of the puppy that evening, the facility had permitted her to take him, but she never did.

Following reports of a deceased dog that fit Pepe’s description, police arrived at the VCA Animal Hospital on October 5.

Nevertheless, a microchip identified the dog as Griffin, a breed close to Scalero’s, and not Pepe. MPD determined that Griffin’s injuries were consistent with animal mistreatment.

From November 2023 until October 2024, Scalero also shared a room with a roommate who had a dog named Gus, who passed away at that time.

Along with other private documents, Scalero’s roommate found her notebook, which contained information on Gus’s death, when she left the residence.

On November 14, Scalero was taken into custody on unrelated charges and interrogated. Although she acknowledged that she owned the notebook, she said that the stories were merely artistic creations. Additionally, Scalero admitted to taking Pepe without making any payment for him.

On November 15, a day later, someone reported finding a dead dog in the 700 block of West 8th Ave., behind a bush. The dog was identified as Pepe by the microchip.

According to a diary post about Pepe, he was a three-year-old Maltese child. One night I kept him, and the next day I killed him. I halt him as he tries to draw away. Rather, I continually strangle him until he passes out.

Additionally, Scalero is accused of writing in her journal that she concealed Pepe behind a shrub close to her house after leaving him in her sexy automobile for a few hours. The dog’s body was eventually discovered as a result of the upsetting description.

An animal rescue organization called Adopt A Dog Rescue posted a photo of Pepe to Instagram along with a statement stating that Scalero had been taken into custody and that charges were being prepared against her. There were also pictures from her diary in the post.

I’m afraid that there are people like these in the world. One person said, “This is horrifying.”

In a follow-up interview on November 18, Scalero acknowledged her involvement in Pepe, Griffin, and Gus’ torture and killings. She was arrested for one theft and three charges of animal abuse.
