ROCKINGHAM — Three teens are accused of robbing a residence in East Rockingham.

On November 9, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a robbery in progress at a home on Wilson Avenue, off Hannah Pickett Avenue.

The caller apparently fled the residence and was hiding in the woods, while another victim remained inside with the criminals. Deputies also discovered while en route that the suspects had fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

A deputy responding to the site reported seeing a person who matched the description of one of the accused sprinting down the street. The deputy reportedly chased and apprehended the suspect.

The stolen vehicle and the other two suspects were reportedly discovered on Airport Road.

According to the sheriff’s office, the suspects range in age from 13 to 16 years old. They were reportedly processed and transferred to the Division of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.

Because of their ages, no additional information is publicly available.

All defendants who face criminal charges are deemed innocent until proven guilty in court.
