Two individuals have been charged by state police in relation to a string of bar break-ins that occurred in multiple counties in southwestern Pennsylvania.
According to authorities, Stephanie Denise Hankle and David Alan Rice broke into twelve establishments in Westmoreland, Washington, and Fayette counties in 2023.
The Darkhorse Saloon, June Bug’s, Brenda Lee’s Bar, Starlite Bar, Slavonic Club, Coal Hill Tavern, Russ Tavern, The Watering Hole, Allenport Marina, Black Diamond VFW, and Cloverleaf were among the establishments that were attacked.
Investigators found that in order to explore areas and assess security, Hankle would take Rice to the bars in his car.
According to authorities, Hankle would drop Rice off at the pubs after they closed, and he would find his way inside. After entering, Rice allegedly stole a number of things and told Hankle to come get him.
Throughout the year, Rice allegedly took cash, money bags, coins, poker machine earnings, an entire ATM, and wine, according to state police.
Authorities claim that Rice and Hankle damaged the 12 bars to the tune of about $8,000 and took $17,517.21.
The investigation by state police is still ongoing.
