US Government confirms what everyone expected about Social Security: the first payment of 2025 is brought forward

Sharing is caring!

Every American who receives Social Security looks forward to the enhanced benefits, which will include a COLA rise by 2025. Family finances are struggling due to the numerous holidays, and an increasing number of beneficiaries are inquiring about the date of the first payment.

As we have been explaining in Tododisca, Social Security benefits are categorized each month according to several dates that typically don’t alter. These include the SSI for days 1 and 3 for retirees who were eligible prior to 1997, and, lastly, the SSI for retirees, disabled people, and veterans who, according on their birthdate, will be eligible on the second, third, or fourth Wednesday of each month.

However, there is a surprise in store for 2025 as the first SSI payment is scheduled on January 1, 2024, which is a New Year’s holiday.

We have included the full calendar for the first few months below so that it is apparent when SSI is collected. It shows that the first payment has been moved up to Monday, December 30, which is the most anticipated day for people who receive this financial assistance because of their precarious circumstances.
