James Kennedy, a star of Vanderpump Rules, was taken into custody on misdemeanor charges of domestic abuse in Burbank, California, on Tuesday evening.
According to authorities who spoke to The Independent, the 32-year-old British DJ, whose actual name is James Kennedy Georgiou, was taken into custody after police arrived at a residence after getting a complaint claiming that Kennedy had gotten into a confrontation with a woman.
Burbank Police were called to a home at approximately 11:30 p.m. on December 10, 2024, in response to a fight between a man and a woman. Mr. Georgiou was arrested after the inquiry revealed that it was a domestic incident, according to a police official.
After being charged with misdemeanor domestic abuse, Mr. Georgiou was released on bail. The office of the Burbank City Attorney is reviewing formal charges.
Variety reports that Kennedy posted $20,000 in bond.
According to the tabloid, he was arrested the same evening that he and his girlfriend, influencer Ally Lewber, went to a party at the house of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kathy Hilton.
Most famously, the TV personality brought his flair and unpredictable nature to the well-known Bravo show. Prior to becoming a regular cast member in season three and a series regular starting in season four, Kennedy made his debut as a guest star in the second season of the show.
He started his on-camera career working as a busboy at Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR Restaurant and Lounge in West Hollywood.
With the news last month that Vanderpump Rules would return for a 12th season with a whole new cast, the show has now experienced a casting change.
According to Vanderpump, the past 12 years of filming have been an incredible journey filled with both tears and laughter, as well as everything in between. I am very grateful that you shared your lives with me. I adore each and every one of you. One change leads to another in the restaurant business. To the upcoming Vanderpump Rules generation, cheers!
Lewber informed Bravo that Kennedy was grieving and experiencing emotions after learning the news.
I didn’t get to see him since I wasn’t there, but whenever I called to check in, he would say, “I’m fine,” she said. I could see he was depressed even though he was simply going to the gym and doing his thing. But I think he was thinking.
It was simply an unreal time in his life. In contrast to when he initially started the show, I think he is proud of where he is now, and I know he is,” she said. Therefore, I think it’s just expressing gratitude and saying, “Holy s***,” looking back. We simply got it done. We can now proceed.
