A Long Island home was struck by an Amazon delivery driver’s vehicle last week, according to video, and residents say the driver left the scene instead of reporting the incident.

The driver puts a gift on the porch as her SUV pulls up the driveway behind her in the footage, which was taken at a Commack home at around eight in the morning on Monday. At the last moment, she spots the uncontrollably moving car as it slams with a boom into the garage.

According to a resident who provided 1010 WINS with the doorbell footage, the motorist appeared to have left the car in drive during what appeared to be an accident.

She informed me that it appeared to be an honest error. That day, it rained. Most likely, all she wanted was to get closer to the driveway and out of the rain.

The event caused $2,000 in damage to the garage door, but no one was hurt.

The fact that the driver had departed without telling the residents was the main problem.

The resident added that the enormous dent in the garage door was sure to be observed and that “we would have felt a little better about it if she had knocked on the door, left a note, or something.”

Since everyone has a Ring camera these days, it was inevitable that the identity of the person would be discovered. “I said,” she said.

The locals informed Amazon and the police about the event.
