In addition to investigating the death of her teenage daughter, police in Florida have detained a woman for reportedly chasing her roommate with a hammer.
Police arrested Kelsey Glover and charged her with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery after her roommate, Shantee Bryant, called 911 to report that Glover was pursuing her while brandishing a hammer.
Bryant was bathing his 14-year-old daughter Giselle Glover when Glover became violent, according to the arrest warrant. Glover used the hammer to chase Bryant into the bathroom after she called 911 and declared her intention to kill her.
Police found Giselle unconscious in the bathtub and Bryant with obvious injuries when they got to Glover’s house in Kissimmee.
Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez said during a press conference that Ms. Glover was observed by witnesses holding her 14-year-old daughter’s head submerged in the bathtub.
They made an unsuccessful attempt to stop her. These witnesses eventually called 911 as a result of Ms. Glover using a hammer to attack and chase them throughout the house.
Associated coverage:
Giselle Glover was taken to a local hospital and declared dead. Lopez said that in order to ascertain the precise cause of death, authorities were awaiting the results of the medical examiner.
The department was starting a thorough homicide investigation, which will shortly be finished. “What happened to her is unimaginable,” he added, characterizing the experience as a “dark day.”
Kelsey Glover was being held without bail at the Osceola County Jail. Marcos said that more charges were pending, according to WOFL, a local Fox affiliate, even though she has not yet been charged with anything connected to her daughter’s death.
