Walnut Creek police seek man who pointed gun at Safeway employee after alcohol robbery

A man who allegedly brandished a gun at a Safeway clerk after his companion stole wine from the shop over the weekend is being sought by Walnut Creek police.

Police were called at 8:51 p.m. on Sunday to report a robbery that had just taken place in the Safeway parking lot located at 1971 Tice Valley Blvd.

After speaking with a store clerk, officers learned that a woman had stolen wine from Safeway, left the establishment, and climbed into a white BMW automobile that was waiting in the parking lot.

The male driver allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim as he approached the BMW and then left the area, traveling south on Tice Valley Boulevard. There were no wounds to the victim.
