In the Golden State Warriors’ 109-105 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Saturday, Jonathan Kuminga scored 34 points and sank the game-winning free throw.

With 29 seconds remaining, Kuminga got inside position on Kevin Durant on an out-of-bounds play, putting the Warriors behind one. He was then fouled. A day after tying his career best in points against the Clippers on Friday, Kuminga made both free throws to put Golden State ahead.

Dennis Schroder scored two free throws after the Suns committed a loose ball foul on the rebound, and Durant, who led the team with 31 points, missed a shot on the other end.

At halftime, Phoenix had a 65-61 lead. After running behind the back to split two defenders, 22-point scorer Stephen Curry beat the first-half buzzer with an off-balance, one-handed floater over seven-footer Oso Ighodaro.

Jusuf Nurkic, who was serving the first of a three-game suspension for his involvement in a fight against the Mavericks on Friday, was not playing for the Suns. In the second quarter, Royce O’Neale also departed the game due to a sprained left ankle.

Due to a lower abdominal discomfort, Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski was unable to participate in the second half.

Warriors: After dropping six of seven games, the Warriors secured a much-needed victory to begin a six-game homestand.

Key moment

The Warriors’ fourth-quarter comeback was largely attributed to their ability to hold the Suns without a field goal in the final 6:48.
