A man who lived with a 57-year-old man from Wyoming is now facing charges after the man was slain in an alleged assault last week.

According to the Wyoming Police Department, the assault happened on Wednesday, January 29, at approximately 6:10 p.m. Near 36th Street, in the 3700 block of Byron Center Avenue SW, police were called.

David Goron, 57, of Wyoming, was found seriously injured when police arrived on the scene. He was taken by first responders to a neighboring hospital, where his injuries ultimately caused his death.

Jeremiah Hernandez, 36, is the suspect, and police think he ran away. After a thorough search, authorities reportedly took him into custody.

Hernandez faces charges of assault with intent to inflict grave bodily harm, a less serious offense than murder, and is being held without bond at Kent County Jail.

Authorities anticipate that in later court processes, charges will be modified.

Although law officials acknowledged to 13 ON YOUR SIDE that the two males shared a residence, they stated that they are still looking into what happened.
