Say Goodbye to 80-Degree Days: Cold Front Set to Cool Raleigh Down Starting Monday!

Raleigh, NC – Today will be the last warm day before a cold front changes the weather pattern in Raleigh. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 81°F, making it a sunny and pleasant day.

However, by Monday, the weather will start to shift, bringing much cooler air to the region. This will put an end to the streak of unseasonably warm days that Raleigh residents have been enjoying.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Monday will remain sunny, but the temperature will cool down to a high of 76°F.

The real change will come on Tuesday, when temperatures drop even further. Residents should expect a high of just 64°F, and scattered light rain may develop in the afternoon.

As the cold front continues to move in, colder air will dominate the weather for the rest of the week. Wednesday and Thursday will bring even chillier temperatures, with highs of 60°F and 62°F, respectively.

Nighttime temperatures are expected to fall into the low 40s, making for some brisk mornings. This marks a sharp contrast to the warm days Raleigh has seen lately.

Motorists driving on major highways like I-40 and I-85 are urged to be careful, as gusty winds are expected as the cold front approaches.

Residents should also prepare for colder nights by checking on outdoor plants and pets.

Columbus Day, however, offers a break in the cooler temperatures. The day will bring fair skies and temperatures in the mid-70s, allowing for a pleasant holiday.

But by the evening, the cold front will return with brisk winds and scattered sprinkles.

The NWS advises people who are sensitive to cold weather to dress warmly, especially in the mornings, as temperatures are expected to drop to the low 40s by Wednesday.
