Federal and local law enforcement agencies have worked together to capture two fugitives wanted for aggravated murder and several felonious assaults in Northern Kentucky.
The United States Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST), working with the Central Kentucky Fugitive Task Force (CKFTF), the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Kenton County Sheriff’s Office, apprehended Willie and Jeromy Jones on January 8, 2025.
The Jones brothers were wanted by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of violent offenses.
SOFAST took up the investigation after learning that the suspects had left Ohio and found them in Kenton County, Kentucky.
Willie Jones was taken into custody on Transformation Lane in Florence, and Jeromy Jones was captured on Woodburn Avenue in Covington. Both arrests were made without any problems.
As they await extradition to Ohio, the brothers are presently being detained at the Kenton County Jail.
According to US Marshal Michael D. Black, the US Marshals Service is dedicated to prosecuting dangerous criminals. Our task force in Southern Ohio and our USMS allies in the Eastern District of Kentucky worked together to make this arrest.
Cincinnati’s SOFAST task force is led by the U.S. Marshals Service and consists of representatives from federal, state, and local organizations, including the Department of Homeland Security, the Ohio Adult Parole Authority, and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
The US Marshals website allows anyone with knowledge regarding fugitives to anonymously submit a tip.
